Friday fun @ Rebtel

Today the office was empty, strangely empty. Large parts of the company was out at Hjalmar’s house working with branding of the company. The rest of the company, hung over from the party yesterday (you’ve read the blog posts which are everywhere right?) was in a “slow mood”.

Anyway, Björn started to finetune his new photoshop skills, check out his lovely work at our common blog.

Social media Press Release template

This is a quite informative template to social media press releases. It gives the connections of all the different places where you should be and be visible. Very nicely done! A bit old now, but still pretty current.

http://www.pr-squared.com/2006/05/the_social_media_press_release.html

Could be good for the guys here at the office to post on their wall and have it in mind 🙂

Company is community, Community is company

Over the past few days we’ve been a part of uploading Rebtel. From being a community located at Augustendahlsvägen in Nacka, Stockholm it’s taken the step to become a community bound together over the internet.

This is the start of what we wantto do… take these guys put them online get our student netowrks, put them online. Mashup and have them all connected with each other. Now only the CEO needs to get online!

QotD: Bail Me Out

Who would you call with your one phone call if arrested? (No lawyers!)

Obvoiusly I would call this cute girl I know in France. If I ever was arrested I would need some cheering up and she always makes me really happy. Naturally I’d call her for free using Rebtel ;)!

Metrobloggen – integrated ad revenues?

So a Swedish newspaper launches blogging support – Metro (you probably know it – it’s the free newspaper company that originally started in Stockholm) has launched what they call “Metrobloggen”. This is basically a bloghosting solution but with integrated ad-revenue + they combine it with their printed media in the form of “blogger of the month”.
The revenue you can earn from hosting your blog there is minimal – 3 Swedish öre per pageview (about 0,003 us cents) – and you would need a staggering amounts of views to get anything.

I doubt this set-up as it seems likely that no “hardcore” bloggers would actually use the service, and the threshold to start using Blogger is now pretty low. The success might be based on the combination of their printed media with the online blogsite + getting some celebbloggers on there.

The website is here http://www.metrobloggen.se/ (in Swedish though!).

Linus & Björn does town take #1

So, after having spent some time online in the coffee shop me and Björn took to town with our cell-phone cameras and started recording followups of Aatski’s “Call me I’m bored” video, for all of you to see here are the first things we did 🙂 Now all you got to do is call us (because we’re still pretty bored….)

Also make sure to check out Aatski’s original 😉

Let’s go for coffee… and be online!

So, social networking has officially taken over my life. Me and Björn met up for coffee today, and about 10 min into the “fika” (check-out your local swedish dictionary for the defintion) we’ve brought out our laptops and are intesively surfing on facebook and bebo… jeeze…

Björn is looking geeky! This is btw quite a nice café, plush couches and quite a neatespresso. Though, they have no WiFi, when will coffe shops learn that the only way to exist now is to have free wifi?

If you want to go here anyway, it’s on Fridhemsplan in Stockholm 🙂

Midsummer

Swedes love alcohol, this is a pretty commonly repeated stereotype right? Well, come Midsummer, it’s quite easy to proove this reputation… Check out the queues outside of Systembolaget (Swedish alcohol monopoly).

Having shared that here’s the briefing on how to celebrate midsummer:

  • We erect a pole symbolizing fertility (through it’s definite male genitalia shape)
  • Dancing ridiculous dances around it is mandatory
  • Food are the standard things for any Swedish festival – boiled potatoes, sill (raw flavoured herring) and meat balls
  • Drink is schnaps with acompaigning traditional songs
